Training

Training and awareness are fundamental components of many compliance standards, including ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 27701, and SOC 2. They play a crucial role in developing the competencies of your team members, as per below examples
- ISO 27001: Requires organizations to establish an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and emphasizes the need for personnel to be aware of their information security responsibilities.
- ISO 9001: Focuses on quality management systems and highlights the importance of competence and awareness among employees to ensure quality objectives are met.
- ISO 27701: Extends ISO 27001 by adding requirements for a Privacy Information Management System (PIMS), necessitating specialized training to address data privacy regulations.
- SOC 2: Pertains to service organizations handling customer data, emphasizing the need for staff awareness training to meet Trust Services Criteria.
Implementing regular training and awareness programs ensures that employees are informed about current threats, best practices, and their roles in maintaining compliance with these standards. This approach helps in identifying and mitigating potential risks, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and demonstrating a commitment to information security and quality management. Furthermore, maintaining records of training sessions is vital for demonstrating compliance during audits. This includes documenting the training materials, attendance records, and evaluations of the training’s effectiveness.
The ‘Training Section’ enables you to manage training records, including attendance logs, evaluations, and other relevant details. It’s important to document every training session conducted within your organization to reflect a culture of continuous learning.
For awareness training, refer to the Awareness Training templates, available in the Compleye Online Templates Section. This training deck template can be customized to align with your compliance standards and business requirements. Once tailored, schedule the training and invite all team members. The training can be delivered online and should occur at least annually, with additional sessions integrated into the onboarding process for new employees.
Following the training, it’s important to assess its effectiveness. A straightforward method is to distribute a quiz using tools like Forms or other preferred platforms. You can utilize quiz questionnaire document available in the Compleye Online Templates Section to facilitate this process.
Key Steps:
Step 1 Register Your Training
In the Training section, start by creating a new training entry by using the Add button, as shown below:

Step 2: General Training Details
After delivering the training, it’s essential to document its details accurately. In the ‘Training Section’, create a new entry and include the following information:
- Training Name: Provide the title of the training session.
- Training Date: Specify the date when the training was conducted.
- Brief Description: Summarize the content and objectives of the training.
- Knowledge Areas Covered: Select the relevant knowledge areas addressed during the training, such as security, privacy, quality, etc.
- Training Type: Specify either internal or external
- Trainer’s Name: Provide the full name of the individual who conducted the training.
- Relevant Links: Include URLs to any associated websites or training platforms used, if applicable.

Step 3 Attendees:
Record all the attendees who participate in the training by selecting their names from the list.

Step 4 Materials & Evaluation
As a final step, attach the evidence of the training delivered, such as the delivered training deck, screenshots of the team meeting, and, most importantly, the training evaluation records, including the questionnaire provided to the attendees. This should also include the assessment of the training. Typically, you should have scores demonstrating that the training was delivered and the quiz passed by all participants to a satisfactory level.
